10 Things That Happen When You Are Finally Together

1. FOOD

After many meals alone, eating together is gonna be one of the things you will cherish the most. All of the food that you discovered alone, you MUST share it with your significant other (S/O). There is a lot of eating so expect gaining weight. Especially if you are dating Donny... He eats as if there were no tomorrow.

2. EVERYTHING PICKS UP RIGHT WHERE IT LEFT OFF

When two friends have not seen each other for a while, usually things fall apart. There is not much in common anymore, there is miscommunication. Well, in a long distance relationship (LDR) that doesn't happen. After months of not seeing each other, you and your S/O will pick up right where you left off last time.

3. EXPLORE THE CITY

The city is more exciting once you have someone to share it with. You know that saying, "It's not where you're at but who you're with"? Well it's true. For example, the Rio Grande Valley is a very special place; it has all kinds of people, a mixture of cultures, and great food, so I love sharing that with Donny. When he visits, we go to places neither of us have been to. That is our way of having new experiences as a couple. When you and your S/O are in the same city, exploring will be inevitable.

4. CAR RIDES TURN INTO YOUR FAVORITE THING

Car rides are simply a blast. You can finally fight about where you should have lunch! When in a LDR you WILL learn to appreciate these experiences that seem to be ordinary to others. Donny and I get a kick out of the, "Where do you want to eat?" question. It's something we never get to ask, so the fight in the car is the best thing ever. Here is a list of possible activities to do in the car:

-Singing

-Dancing

-Judging each other's singing and dancing

-Judging each other's driving

-Judging each other

-Judging others (All good things, all good things)

-Exploring

-Car games

-Rap battles (even though you probably suck at rhyming)

5. PICTURES OF YOUR S/O DOING NOTHING SPECIAL

Seeing your S/O doing regular activities will bring a weird and unexpected joy. This, will then lead you to take out your phones and take pictures. You will end up with many pictures like these:

6. SLEEP IS FOR THE WEAK!

There is no way you two can sleep while together. You stay up and watch movies, go places, buy food! There is no sleeping unless it is at a random time in the day and it is just a nap.

7. GOODBYE EVENINGS

This is the part of the trip when you know your S/O is leaving and you have to plan ahead what you will do on your last evening together.

8. REALITY HITS

They must leave, you must stay. There is work, school and responsibilities to get back to.

9. TEARS & SERIOUS TALKS

Tears are inevitable at this point. Feelings simply gush out. When Donny has to go, I cry way much more than I should. And that's when we sit down and he reminds me why it must be this way for a few years. This is one of the most important things that should happen when visiting your S/O. Because the two of you talk things out and share your feelings. This is also the part were you talk about the next visit and upcoming plans.

10. FIND IT ALL WORTH IT

Lastly, you two will realize that it is all worth it. The tears and the waiting are all worth it because at the end of the day, you know that the two of you will be together again sometime soon.
