Nails. Beach. Fishing. Birthday. Family.

Before moving to San Diego in February of 2016, I used to live in Apache Junction, Arizona. If you look it up, it's a very small town on the outskirts of Phoenix. Life was chill, the food was not great, and the most fun I've had was probably going to the nearby lake.
But ever since I've set foot in SD, life has been a whirlwind. TON's of activity and food to share with friends and family. I'll show you guys some of the happenings below.
Last Tuesday I visited my buddy Tai at his nail salon. I walked in to him giving his girlfriend Candace a polish change.

After work, the two took me out to a nearby beach where I snapped a few lubby-dubby photos of them.
On Friday, my friend Adam (skinnier white guy ^.^) visited me from Arizona with two of his buddies. We met out at La Jolla cove and watched the infamous sea lions frolic around the rocks.
Afterwards we went to one of my favorite spots in Old Town, watched a live band, and shot the breeze with a Level 2 Sommelier. These guys really can tell you type of grapes used in the wine, where it was grown, and if it was rainy that season. Totally mind blowing.
Adam planned a quarter-day fishing trip for the guys (and even paid for my ticket!), so Saturday morning I was up bright and early, totally ready to catch some fish. I've actually never caught a fish at all up to this point because I'm a total loser, but deep down in my heart of hearts...I've always had a feeling my luck will change one of these days..
Yep! Caught him! A poisonous California Sculpin!
Funny thing was, my live bait fell off when I cast the line in the water. But while I was reeling the line back in with nothing but an empty hook, I caught the little fella. Score!
I had to bid my friends farewell earlier than I want to, because there was a birthday party to catch. My friend Lan has a little girl that turned 2 that day, and I wanted to capture my first party event on camera.
After the birthday party, was the after party. But I didn't want to stay too long because I was super tired for the fishing trip, and yet...
Once I got home, I saw that my aunts and uncles have visited. I was really missing sleep at this point. But family time is always fun, and I got to snap some decent pictures of my uncles.
On Monday it was back to work. Back to the grind to refill my pockets for another weekend. And while I was preoccupied with friends and family, I've always had Valery in mind, and still try to call her at least once a day. It can sure seem like I had a lot of fun, but there was always something...or someone rather, missing. I don't think I've ever fully enjoyed myself, because with anything I did I've always thought:
"How much better this would be if Valery was here"
God I miss her so much >.<
I'm thankful for this cool project though, so that Valery can catch a few glimpses of my life before she joins me one day on all of these adventures.
